The Skamolex Replacement Panels are taking the industry by storm. Unlike heavy refractory panels, the Skamolex panels are a lighter, compressed vermiculite panel. Unlike ceramic refractory panels, Skamolex panels can be cut with ordinary wood-working tools and produce little or no dusting. They have a high insulation value, thermal shock resistance and are approved by Omni Labs for installation as a replacement for refractory panels in factory-built fireplaces. These panels measure 39-3/8" x 24" x 1" and feature a brick pattern. 54 lbs.

A SMALL FIRE WILL NEED TO BE MAINTAINED FOR THE FIRST FEW HOURS IN ORDER FOR THE PANEL TO CURE!

Although some stove manufacturers are starting to use Skamol Panels, don't replace the existing stove firebrick unless approved by the wood stove manufacturer.
Skamol Panels give great flexibility for replacing panels in Prefab fireplaces (zero-clearance fireplaces) or manufactured fireboxes. They are a perfect replacement for panels that can't be found

Skamol Panels have been in use in Europe for some time and are free from asbestos. They are tested twice; once at the manufacturing plant under strict regulations and once before they are shipped overseas. Because of the unique location that the materials are mined from, you won't find any panels exactly like the Skamol Panels.
